The Berger Hybrid Target 30 Cal 168 grain bullet is one of the flattest shooting target bullets available. Berger Hybrid Target Bullets are built with highly consistent J4 Precision Bullet jackets, most favored by custom bullet makers. The Berger Hybrid Target Bullets are identical in construction, shape and performance to the Berger Hybrid Hunting series. The exception is that Berger utilize a thicker J4 Precision jacket for the Hybrid Target Bullets.

Berger Hybrid Target Bullets utilize their industry-leading hybrid ogive. This design, which blend tangent and secant ogive designs optimize efficiency, reduce wind-drift, and minimize sensitivity to seating depth. This will cause the bullet to experience less drag as it travels to the target. This reduced drag is why the Berger Elite Hunter bullet shoots flatter, experiences less wind-drift, and has a higher retained velocity. BERGER HYBRID TARGET BULLET DESIGN
The Berger Hybrid Target bullet design is a combination of two very specific features. The first is a boat tail which is common on long and heavy bullets. The second and most important design feature is the blend between the long tangent and secant ogive. It is this ogive shape that allows the bullet to experience less drag as it flies to the target. This reduced drag is how the Berger Hybrid Target shoots flatter and is less affected by wind (less drift) than other bullets. Reduced drag also translates into higher retained velocity.
